Hi there! I purchased CrazyTalk to create a virtual host on my website. Discovered that though CrazyTalk can export a html page with the virtual host, it doesn't work properly when I try to place the virtual host in SS to publish. CrazyTalk states that the FTP must be done in binary. I posted a question to try to learn how to make SS publish in binary but I didn't understand the instructions in the response. Could one of the SS guru's please explain this to me in a child-like step-by-step process? It would also be good to know if it makes any difference to SS if the publishing setting is binary or ascii?
The other option would be to import the web page that CrazyTalk created into SS, but is this possible? Another idea (worst-case scenario) would be for me to use another FTP program to upload the CrazyTalk webpage to my host, and use an iframe in SS to load the CrazyTalk webpage into the iframe in the SS page. This will be tricky, though as I would need to learn how to change the background color of the CrazyTalk webpage to match that of my SS pages. Maybe someone has an idea to get the CrazyTalk virtual host into a SS webpage and have the associated sizing options and control options work? http://crazytalk.reallusion.com/ ~ Mylnda ('melinda') |

If you are happy with the CrazyTalk page as a "standalone" page -- you should be able to include that page in your project as a foreign object. Then the only change you need make to your SS project is set up the link to the Crazy Talk page. Caveat: I have not done this
Don't be afraid of FTP programs -- if you have Windows XP, there is a nice one built right in. Just drag and drop. If you rely on SS to do the FTP, the default ascii/binary settings will be OK. Files with .TPS, .TJM or other oddball extensions will transfer as binary, which is exactly what you want. Perhaps the reason it does not work is that you have not transferred all the files it needs? |

Hi Bruceee! I use coffeecupFTP for odds 'n ends. It works great and is free. I've got all the files uploaded and the CrazyTalk character/movie plays fine, but it seems to ignore the size I've made it and it displays at a 'default' size, plus when I specify in CrazyTalk for the controlls to appear - they don't in the CrazyTalk character in the SS page. The alternative of viewing the CrazyTalk created webpage through an iframe in the SS page may work, but I was hoping to be able to get it working in SS if possible rather than using the iframe. The stand alone CrazyTalk page will not be suitable for my project - I'd like to place the CrazyTalk character on a SS webpage. I'll keep working at it via trial 'n error. Though I'm always open to suggestions and ideas ;-)

If you post a CrazyTalk generated page and a page with the same thing in a SiteSpinner page we might be able to spot what is wrong.

I have been the recipient of some serious help from so many folks in this forum! Thank-you all so very much! Also - I love Site Spinner! Have yet to try WE (though I've purchased it)...
Anyways, I found that the reason the CrazyTalk object didn't work in SS was because the code generated by CrazyTalk had some little quirks - like capitals, extra spaces, missing spaces, missing double-quotes. Got it worked out now. Thanks for taking the time to respond to this post/inquiry. Best! - M ~ Mylnda ('melinda') |
