Since the new Web Engine product is highly dependent on SVG, I noted with interest the following note on Adobe's SVG Player dowload site:

Please note that Adobe has announced that it will discontinue support for Adobe SVG Viewer on January 1, 2008

What does this mean for Site Spinner and Web Engine?

TM,
I have been wondering the same thing, as I do not know much about SVG, I cannot answer the question but I am curious how this may affect WE and SS in the future for better or for worse.

The jury is still out on the future of SVG - at least the full spec. No doubt it will continue to be used by specialized user, but whether it will ever catch on in the mainstream depends a lot on whether IE supports is natively. SVG on Mobile Devices is another thing. Many mobile phones and PDA's support SVG Basic or Tiny.

Having said that, our products are design tools and are not tied to any specif export format. How much we support SVG going forward depends on what the needs of our customers are. We may choose to further embrace it, or we may choose to add other formats for you to publish to...
