Is there a collection of advanced examples of SSP animations that I can peruse? I've only been able to find quite basic examples. I'm hoping to upgrade my software, and I want to see how far it can take me.

Thanx in advance.

The animations I know best are in the SSPro tutorials, but they are not "advanced". Some of our members have posted links to pages that have other examples, but they too are basic animations.

For "advanced", your best option is probably to use Flash -- which is easy to add to your SiteSpinner project.

Depending upon what type of animation you want and what objects you want to animate, you may also find the prototype.js framework with scriptalious.js add-on able to do what you want. Mootools also support limited javascript animation, but is harder to work with in SS since it requires a strict DOCTYPE which SS does not support (you'd have to manually edit the generated code and change the DOCTYPE statement).

Hi jim476,

We do not have any examples of SSP animation - we have spent most of our time getting that product out the door, as well as updating our other products.

You can create quite complex animation with the Action and Behavior editors. I would suggest playing around with those, you might be surprised what you can do relatively easily, once you get the hang of it.

We do plan on putting some demos together, as well as some tutorials to go with them.

What a great place this is!

I know of no other product-related website which offers such considerate assistance from both users and product personnel.

Bruce: I've been scanning the web in hopes of finding affordable (meaning, non-Adobe) software to create the Flash files.

Larry: Your help is always appreciated, and way beyond the call of duty. This time, however, you've labored under the assumption I'm not a techno-idiot. I've looked up the java script / prototype add-on and documentation, and I'm afraid it's w-a-y beyond my understanding. I'm one of those guys who gets lost after the first click.

Derry: You've sold me. I'm going to upgrade first chance.

Thanx all. I really mean the kudos.

If you are still looking for an inexpensive Flash development tool, try Sothink Quicker. It is very much like Adobe Flash without the cost.

Thanx again, Larry. I'll put SoThink on my wish list (after SSP, of course).
