I have created a flash file that works perfectly.
When I try to add it to site spinner and preview, all works great.
I upload my complete published project with all the files onto my web-server and I get problems.
My movie (swf file) background is blue. (movie file is only 300 x 400, on a 800x600 web page)
Under the imported objects properties window, I have no shading selected, and a thin yellow border.
When I add my movie file as a flash file and publish it on the net, neither mozilla or IE see my blue background. Only a white background. (I have white text so you can't see any of my text)
When I add the same movie file as an SVG and publish it on the net, only mozilla see's my blue background(the way I want it to be viewed)
IE still see's a white background.

How do I get rid of that white background? I don't even know where to look to see what is making the change from my pre-set blue to white.

Thanks.

Can you post a link to your site?

Here it is:
http://www.freewebs.com/asielrich/Test%20Album/geometry/test.html
As you will see, the whole webpage is blue,
only the movie file has the white background. The
settings for the swf file are set for it to have
a blue background as well. The border of the movie file is yellow.
When i preview this in SS, I see it how I want to see it. Once it is on the web, it changes to white....
I have no idea why! It has to be a setting in SS. What solutions do I have to fix this?
Thanks

What browser are you using?

I viewed your page with Firefox2, IE7 and Opera9.

As the swf loads, the background is entirely white. Once the swf file fully loads, the background changes to blue with a yellow border, a nav menu with blue letters and a white background, and a text area with an image, the words "Test text" and it also has a white background.

Looking at your swf file, it looks like you are trying to use a pre-loader, but it is not appearing because of the white background used by symbol 1 in frame 1.

thanks. I am using firefox2. If I play the swf by itself I see what I want. Also, when I preview the page with the swf file, (in SS) I see it the way I want. For some reason, when I put it on the net, it goes white.

This is what you saw :

This is what you should see:

When the nav menu is activated, (Theater in this example)you will see:

Which I don't want because you can't see anything.

This is what should be seen:

Hope this makes it easier. What causes this? I made the swf file with AnFx. I have not added a preloader.

From your top two images, I see the lower one with the blue background. From your caption (altho offset), it appears this is the desired view. When I click the Theatre link, I again see the lower of the two example images.

From the captions, I mn seeing it the way you want me to. This has me scratching my head since we are both using FF as the browser. It also looks this way in IE7 and Opera. What results to you get with other browsers?

This leads me to believe it may be some configuration item on your PC but off hand I cannot think what it could be. I am on Vista - if that matters.

Could we get some forum help by viewing the link above and reporting what you see?

ok. All is good then. I only have IE 6, which I don't use, so IE6 gives me that white background. Now I know, I will be updating my IE as we speak.
Thanks.
