Hello,
The title is about intentions, soon to become reality. This then is to be a "serial"; it will evolve from what is now an incomplete static version into a final animated product. The raw material is the kind of stuff which geophycisists and technical types like to mess with --- heavy on mathematical massaging. But the project is real and serious and is being presented time-delayed to its actual status. The goal is to develop something new; what, however, you will have to determine. It is not especially confidential (or it wouldn't be here) but neither has it been released publicly. http://members.shaw.ca/rcspaladin/knoxctha.html Call this a continuation of "SVG:the pinnacle?" Hi Derry,
Your new Import page looks pretty good too!! Good job of V2 beta even if I am heart broken. This is turning into a real life image processing saga and puzzle. This is one rotten piece of data to work with. See new ending to see what I mean. I haven't finished with the front page by a long shot. That was "quick and dirty." 800x600 embedded SVG: Centred on all screens. http://members.shaw.ca/rcspaladin/knoxctha.html As I mentioned I have animation plans when the deadline work is done. I do love playing with this stuff. I can see that this is a big interest item. I live in my own world I guess. Thrax [This message was edited by Thrax on December 16, 2003 at 06:12 PM.] |

Yes, I noticed the final page. Do you work for Shaw?

Ok Harpo, as you can see elsewhere, I missed it -- but you better believe that I looked!!
Thanks guys, in spades. Worth a bit more than a Brit beer: Champagne and Prime Alberta Mad Cow and a free night on the town: (Balzac). The beauty of SVG. The first page I used it on in the above link, page eight I believe, the SVG file was 487,000 kb., but downloaded in a blink of an eye. HTML titles, (at least they used to) take forever. First-rate work. Sure glad I was so patient and understanding and full of wise calmness throughtout it all. (I still haven't stopped smiling.) Web-Engine is now one the premiere SVG editors in my books. Too bad I am so shy about letting the world know. ........ Derry, the above link is a bona-fide serious piece of work in progress. The final product will become a matter of public viewing. It is one difficult job and without a background in seismic data processing I wouldn't have a clue how to proceed. The original product, drafted by hand and printed has been long lost. I've been asked to rescue it out of that mess. Yep, I think that I have used up about one half of my 70 mb of Shaw Web Space. I can assure you that the ftp editor is working fine. I can't wait to get back into animation and working on my home site and revising Knox and .......and.... I thought you might be interested in that. Glad you are enjoying it. Note that if you use small fonts and then stretch the title box you may see rounding errors that show up as lumpy edges to the font. If you start with a font size closer to the final size that will prevent the problem.

Hello,
Well there are a few more pages on the end which brings this little saga to an end as far as it will be displayed here. http://members.shaw.ca/rcspaladin/knoxctha.html I don't have a clue what your backgrounds are, but there are few tougher problems in basic signal processing than dealing with data where the noise and signal spectrums overlap. It becomes a minimization-optimization process and is a tough nut to crack. That is basically why as a "Final Basic" I had to settle for an extra pixel in line width. Every linear filter has an impulse response function -- the Fourier Transform of the Transfer function. I knew I was beginning to "lose it" when I began to wonder what the impulse response of hand-editing pixels was. (Geophysics humour, don't worry!) You not only did "a" job; you did a first-rate job on the imaged fonts. This feature, as mentioned, pushes Web Engine's stature way, way up. People must think I am nuttier than nuts, but when words are as important as they are to me, typography is a major issue. You will make a graphic designer out of me yet. Thanks again with a big smile, Cheers, Thrax |
