New SiteSpinner Pro (previously WebEngine) beta Posted

An update to the SiteSpinner Pro beta has been posted. It can be downloaded from here.

You can view the Read Me for a list of changes.

As with the other previous betas, be sure to backup any projects, and un-install any previous version of the SiteSpinner Pro before installing this release.

All registered users of WebEngine will be able to upgrade to SiteSpinner Pro at no cost.

Projects saved with SiteSpinner Pro cannot be opened With previous WebEngine betas or SiteSpinner. SiteSpinner Pro can open all projects, but be aware that projects saved with future versions of SiteSpinner Pro, up until and including the final release, may not be accessible by previous betas.

We are posting this beta in the hope that you will help us by providing any feedback you might have. So please, post any comments here, or forward them off to us at vmsupport@virtualmechanics.com

SS Pro is still in beta version, and not approved or recommended for final website production because of potential issues still undiscovered. It is for "playing around with" only.

VM recommends backing up your previous projects, so that you will have access to them in case you accidentally overwrite them by saving them in SS Pro beta while testing. Once this is done, you will not be able to reopen them in your current SS version. Rule of thumb: never save your web projects done in previous versions when testing in SS Pro, unless you have the older files saved elsewhere, or save under a different file name. I would save them elsewhere on my drive, and to a disc or external drive for redundancy.

Downloading SS Pro beta will not affect your current SS program, or change your current project files.

All my previous VM projects opened fine in SS Pro. I really like the new layout and features. As long as your previous files are backed up, I recommend checking it out. The more of us testing the beta version for bugs, and the more of us offering suggestions for improvements, the better the program will be when finally released for production.
