Hi BigG,

Thanks for the information. Could you tell us what Browser you are using with your Blackberry?

Hi Derry

I'm in the UK and the two options available on my Blackberry are web'n'walk and T-zones.

My phone network is TMobile.

I've looked at the site using each browser and the results are more or less the same.

My email address is gef@coreden.com

If you can send me an email address for yourself I can send on screenshots of the Mobile version of the site

I've found a problem with SS Pro beta 5 in that my navigation tabs using a project created with WebEngine V2 are invisible on the pages.

http://www.magray.co.uk is the site made with WE2 and the navigation tabs hang from the bar.

http://magray.co.uk/test is created using the same project file as above but done in SS Pro beta 5. You will see that the navigation tabs are invisible, although if you click where they should be, they do actually work.

The ims files are

WE2: http://www.magray.co.uk/magray250608.ims

SSP: http://www.magray.co.uk/test/magrayNew.ims

Any ideas please?

Also, if I change the toolbars in SSP beta 5 Options, it doesn't save them. I have ticked the Page toolbar to show, which it does, but if I quit and reload SSP it doesn't show next time.

Cheers,

Ray D

Ok Ray, this is what is happening:

You have four transparent objects on top of the navigation tabs. SSP beta5 is not creating transparent images as it should in this case. Instead it is creating images that contain the background color.

So... we will have to fix that, but in the meantime if you want to move ahead using the beta there are a couple of thing that you can do.

1. Just delete those objects. I may be missing something but it looks like they are not required.
2. Move those objects ‘to back’ so that the tabs are visible above them. Again, you may have a reason that they need to be on top.

If those objects do need to be transparent and on top let us know and we will look for another workaround.

To be clear about which objects I am talking about, if you look on the ‘family’ page maygray250608.ims, they are obj221, obj222, obj223 and obj224. They will be different on the other pages.

By the way, you might consider using clones or includes for your navigation objects so that if you need to make a change in future, you only need to change in one place.

Oh, I forgot to talk about your toolbar issue.

Are you switchng between different beta versions? That might cause problems like that. Also, if you have more than one copy of SSP open, the setting from the last one you close will be saved.

Otherwise, try holding down the CTRL and SHIFT keys while starting SSP. That will reset the toolbars. Then try changing the toolbars again.

If that doesn't help, can you tell us: what version of Windows are you using? Are you working from a user or administator account?

I'm glad to see that Web Engine, now SiteSpinner Pro is progressing. Although I am a little tired of beta releases of the product. I purchased Web Engine in Feb 2003 for AUS$172, so you'll forgive me for hoping that a final product isn't too much further away...

Hi dazza101/franceso,

Yes, WebEngine has worn the 'beta' designation for quite some time. There were a few times when we could have dropped the beta designation, but there has always been another feature we wanted to add. Updated Help and Tutorials for WebEngine are the only thing that has kept it from loosing the 'beta' at the end of the product name.

We won't be doing that now, though keep in mind that WebEngine tagging a 'beta' after the name of the product has kept it immune from becoming an Upgrade. That is, WebEngine has been developed, and new features added for a number of years without any upgrade charges Smile (and there won't be for the SiteSpinner Pro release for registered WebEngine users).

And all this time I thought the "Beta" tag was part of the trademarked name.
