We are very happy to announce that SiteSpinner Pro (formerly known as WebEngine) has been posted.
If you are a registered user of WebEngine from January 2001 on-wards, then this is a free upgrade. Simply enter your WebEngine registration details after installing if prompted.
For a limited time, registered SiteSpinner users are eligible to upgrade to SiteSpinner Pro at 50% off the regular price. Contact us with your SiteSpinner Serial Number (available in SiteSpinner under Help > About).
Over the course of the next few days and weeks SiteSpinner Pro will be rolled out to the Virtual Mechanics Website, Newsletter, press, etc.
Our goal was to get SiteSpinner Pro out the door. Your suggestions, along with all feature requests, are important to us, and have not been overlooked.
The SiteSpinner Pro PDF manual will be posted this week.

Hi everybody, I'm new here and i'm a little confused. I purchased Web Engine on September 4th and don't understand what is happening. Are you saying that web engine is now SiteSpinner Pro? Do i uninstall the siteSpinner and the web engine and download SiteSpinner Pro? or do i just download SideSpinner Pro, but what do i do with the SiteSpinner and the Web Engine, and why do i need both, i just need 1 program to do a web site. Please help. Thank you Betty
SiteSpinner Pro is the most recent upgrade to WebEngine, and due to some added features, has been given a new name. Since you recently purchased, you are entitled to a free upgrade. Just download SS-Pro and install it. It should detect your WebEngine registration automatically.
You can install all 3 products on your computer. Projects created with SS-Pro cannot currently be used with either SS or WE because the project file structure has changed, but SS-Pro can still read the older project files.
Being a newer user, you should download and install SS-Pro and use it as your main tool. That way you will not need to be concerned with any difference between the it and the older programs.
Thank you larryd. So, you say when i download SiteSpinner Pro i don't need the SS and WE any more. I'm new at this and don't want to learn more than one program to work with. When i first got WE i went right to the help pages and my head is still spinning from all the stuff i have to learn.LOL. Hopefully i can sort it out and make a Web Site.
I think i have a problem. i downloaded SiteSpinner Pro and it thanks me for purchasing SiteSpinner Pro and wants me to register, and when i click on the icon on my desktop my Serial# and Name are not the same as when i purchased WE, and i can't change it. What did i do wrong?
If you don't have it properly registered, SSPro will remind you each time you start it that it is a trial version, and will tell you how many trial days you have left.
If that is not happening, then you probably do have it registered. Derry will know more....

Hi Bruceee,no it doesn't say that. It's only the SSP registration, but doesn't have the same serial # like the WE. Do i just go ahead and put my name and e-mail in there and be done wiyh it?
I guess I will download this one.. had a PC upgrade, so might as well do the SS upgrade and buy again. Always nice when I see you keeping on top of the product. Worth supporting that. After the install I will most likely be back for some dumb questions.
Is there a page that describes the differences between SiteSpinner and SiteSpinner Pro? (I just loaded the trial version of SiteSpinner last week and am still learning it.) Now I see there's a pro version available and wondering if the learning curve is much more complex? So my 2nd question is for advice; should I continue learning SiteSpinner, then move up? Or just go ahead and purchase the pro vs.?
The main difference is that SS-Pro supports web development for mobile devices (i.e., small screens). It also provides tools for animation. If none of this interests you, then SiteSpinner should suit your needs. SS-Pro has the same basic features as SiteSpinner, so if you anticipate moving up, you might as well buy SS-Pro now, learn the basics, and move into the advanced topics when you are ready.
Thank you, Larry. I greatly appreciate your timely response and expertise. Just to let you know, I've opted to purchase the standard SiteSpinner rather than 'pro' for two reasons: 1. For me, it's just a hobby, no commericial gain anticipated. 2. Given my older computer, I thought it best not to tax it with possible hang ups due to additional algorithms in the pro version. Thanks again for your fine response.
