Updates have been posted for SiteSpinner V2.7 and Web Engine V2 (beta):

SiteSpinner V2.7 'a' and Web Engine V2 'i' (beta) are now live. If you have installed SiteSpinner V2.7 or Web Engine V2 'h' (beta) then on the product menu go to 'Help > Check for Updates' and simply download and install the latest release.

If you have a previous release, then you first need to uninstall that version before installing the latest release - please see the information here

These updates include the following changes, fixes, and additions:

FIXED: Installing on PCs with non-US date format could cause defaults to be reset each time program was run.
CHANGE: Program shortcuts no longer triggers repair if installed files are missing
FIXED: Publisher now uses user's page order (not internal page order) for current and range selections
ADDED: Display current page range in Publisher's title bar
FIXED: splash-screen may cover 'old ims file' warning if 2.5 ims file is dbl-clicked to launch SiteSpinner
FIXED: Pop-up bug - size of pop-up window set to zero on first publish of un-viewed pages
CHANGED: Enlarged keyword and description meta-tag fields
ADDED: Group/Ungroup and Arrange > Order shortcut keys - see menu for keys
CHANGED: CTRL+ G was used to show/hide grid. Now it is CTRL+ D (for show griD)
FIXED: default ftppro on now uses default subdirectories (was old format of 'all blank')
ADDED: 'Use local codepage for links' to text editor's Options and Filters (this option defaults to 'unchecked' may help with link text problems when using systems with non-western European languages)
FIXED: non-rendered rectangles (rects as <div> with tiled images and 0 border width are 1 pixel less then workspace view
FIXED: non-rendered rectangles (rect as <div> less than 24px, are too tall in IE - added 'font-size:1px' to those rectangles
FIXED: non-rendered/non-anti-aliased Title may be stretched beyond rectangle
FIXED: Editing Publisher, Pages tab, 'Sub Folders', does not activate the Publisher 'apply' button
FIXED: Crashing when text from Code View is pasted into Code or Text Editor

I think the new versions are great, brilliant time saving features. I mainly use WEbengine - is there more help on the animation side yet?

I am often stuck on the animation and in the past have just made do with gifs from motiongif where I would really like to be more involved with the WE animation.

I notice that there are extra templates with Web Engine that cover features not in SiteSpinner like... animation!

You may get some useful hints by playing with those.

There is a bit more help on the animation side with the latest release of Web Engine - please check the Tutorials (Help > Tutorials), specifically the sections on 'Behaviors', 'Key-Path Editor', and 'Action Editor'.

These are only basic however. There are still a few things we plan on adding to those editors. Once we do, we'll add more 'real-world' examples, Demos, and step-by-step instructions. Hopefully the additional items in the Tutorials will help you get started.

Nicely done. (finally)
So far things seem to be working well in both Explorer as well as in gecko-engine based browsers
Even the colors appear now same.
Keep up the good work. Can't wait what the next update is going to look like.

I see you must uninstall SSpinner before installing the update, and, the update will not work on the old ims. files. This is a deal killer for me, I have many ims files I HAVE to keep working on, updates, etc. Is there a workaround (maybe installing in a separate folder? For instance, my personal site (gets a few thousand hits a month) is about 200 pages and MUST be updated, it would be impracticle for me to start over, and, I don't think I'm going to maintain 2 PCs one for each version of SSpinner.
Thanks, Reese

Not so. You can run old ims files with the new version.

The restriction is that you can't run files saved with the new version on the old version. The old version does not know about some of the new version features like forms.

I suggest take extra care with your backups and go for it with the new version -- it is unlikely that you will want to revert to the old version.

I think you misunderstood.
It's the other way around - the old version(2.5) will not work with the files created in the new version.

Wink ..ooops...I didn't see your post bruceee, came straight from the email notification

When might you get around to the notification to registered users?
I looked in here today on a random 'see what's new' whim.

Evidently I will have to backup, download the installer, uninstall 2.5f, and install the new version--will it automatically recognize my registration or will I have to dig up and re-enter that information?

Even when you uninstall V2.50f, your registration details will automatically carry over to the new version.

I think VM is holding off official notification until the pioneers who hang out here find all the bugs Smile

Actually we're only holding off till our next bi-monthly email cycle, which it coming up real soon.

Compared to the previous versions of the products these are much more bug-free. The major problem we have is with users installing the older versions before installing the new releases. If the updates are not done correctly, things may appear fine for a while, then unwanted things start to happen, which in turn get reported as 'bugs'.
