Hello,

This is a "page" I intend to develop slowly over time, linking it with new material via threads.

(a)..My major discovery these past few weeks is just how little I understood about SVG, Graphics -- Web Site design in particular --, and the rudimentary aspects of Art such as colour, linear perspective and shape, to mention what are the most relevant aspects to SVG as I intend to use it. And that, in a sentence, is the use of SVG and three-dimensional modelling to create a graphics art form known as romantic realism -- generally defined as the selective re-creation of reality in the image of what one sees as important in life. The so-called slide show presentation incorparting text is my chosen format.

I write many essays in my home site; thus the integration of text and image via SVG is the ultimate objective.

But, returning to the theme proper, I now undeniably know more than I did a year and a half ago, but that, as mentioned elsewhere. consists primarily of knowing just how much I don't know about graphic design.

(b)..Hence, although my "leisurely vacation" is over and I once again return to the web-site building business, that by no means puts an end to my studies. And studying means practicing not just reading. So,...it is once again my full intent to try develop material not readily available on the Internet for the purpose of assisting those fellow pioneers who which to pursue the use of SVG to its full potential.

(c) I fully recognize that the number of SVG users is (surprisingly and disappointingly) small -- and phooey on the rest of you losers -- Confused but I would rather work with those of you looking to the future as opposed to seeking comfort in the status quo.

(d)..I do contend, however, that apart from ease of use, the real justification of using SVG lies in the pursuit of opening up "space "in one's web-site sceneage. Animation will happen one day, but, as far as I am concerned, one should know how to create something worth animating first.

This link on two point perspective published elsewhere, shall constitute the start of this series.

For those of you lacking SVG viewing capability, I refer you to

for acquistion of the Adove SVG viewer.

Cheers,
Muzz

Just trying my best in my leisurely life to help Virtual Mechanics bask in the golden sunlight at the pinnacle of the editor hierarchy! Cool

(a) The above link to the Adobe viewer is wrong: should be...
http://members.shaw.ca/rrsknox/khportal.html

(b) Finally found out the real reason why I haven't been able to view my latest uploads involving .jpg files. It had nothing to do with the files; but "rcswebby" is now 99.9% full!! Such a slackard RC. (Get a life and work at VM.) Razz

(c) Now the full series, though not yet complete, can be seen:

(embedded SVG: 800x600: centered on all screen sizes.)
http://members.shaw.ca/rcswebby/krispeha.html

3D modelling of above next; then 3 point linear perspective.

From the pulpit,
Cheers,

Muzz

"All men by nature desire to know. An indication of this is the delight we take in our senses; for even apart from their usefulness they are loved for themselves; and above all others the sense of sight. ...but even when we are not going to do anything, we prefer seeing (one might say) to everything else. The reason is that this, most of all senses, makes us know and brings to light many differences between things."

Aristotle, thusly, would have loved SVG. {Aristotle, Metaphysics, BK I, CH.I} ...as one wit noted about the first sentence, "He has obviously never taught a modern class of graduate students."

Further, "...But yet we think that knowledge and understanding belong to art rather than to experience (which implies that Wisdom depends in all cases on knowledge); and this is because the former {artists} know the cause but the latter do not. For men of experience know that the thing is so, but do not know why, while others know the 'why' and the cause. ...And in general it is a sign of the man who knows and of the man who does not know, that the former can teach, and therefore we think art more truly knowledge than experience; for artists can teach, and men of mere experience can not. ...Clearly then Wisdom is knowledge about certain principles and causes." .ibid.

I am accordingly pursuing Wisdom in order that I may return and cast a blinding light over the pathway to SVGism. And you shall all take much delight in the panorama that your eyes shall present to your neurons grown weak and weary with over-exposure to things flat and shallow. Cool

Cheers,

Muzz

Hi Bill,

I am busy transferring that link to a new account. "rcswebby" is full. Try late Saturday.

Sorry about that...and welcome to the "Microsoft Crash." ...it ain't the last one you are going to see. (Unfortunately they are missing an alternative option to "send," "don't send." I have been dying to say "stuff it!")

Cheers,

Muzz

Hi Bill,

A day late, but I finally have the series on two point linear perspective back on line.

(embedded SVG: 8x6: centered on all screen sizes)
http://members.shaw.ca/RCsvgISMS/krispeha.html

I am planning on doing a series on three point perspective at some point in time. Expressed interest will make it sooner than later.

How about some non-Euclidean geometries? Smile

Note carefully the new Shaw account I created, Derry. The darkness shall lift.

Cheers.

Hello,

I didn't like the new account name. Here it all is again, for the last time.

http://members.shaw.ca/muzzrpore/krispeha.html

And while I wouldn't call it the end for the unexpected may occur, but barring the unexpected this is the end of my ramblings on Perspective and SVG for the forseeable future while I return to my first love and passion.

...these are my deepest roots, something which I have full control over, and, surprisingly, a subject in which there is much more interest than SVG.

http://members.shaw.ca/rcspaladin/blessmikea.html

In other words, I now turn finally to the integration of "Word and Image."

I shall be in and out,
Thanks for everything guys and all the best,

Cheers,

Muzz
