I have just upgraded to Windows7 - painless until now. For bakup I had always saved (daily) on another drive the the files that backup the Publidh(FTP) entries. With 40 webistes this is kind of time saving whenever I want to reload my OS (did it about every 6 months in XP)> I would just copy in the "brwslist.ini-ftppro.ini -urlist.htm" inot the Bin folder under Program files for SiteSpinner. Da,Da - my newly installed SS has all the ftp stuff in place. I do the copy routine in W7 and they apprear to copy over. eg. ftppro goes from about 2KB to 26KB. Open it and it has all the address stuff. BUT _ BUT they don't work. SS opens the Publish at Default and blank so that everything must be entered again. Any bright ideas - anyone. HELP
Larry, with all due respect, if you read Bob’s post correctly, I think he means it is 2K on installation, but becomes 26K when replaced, which would account for the 40 websites.
That would closely equate to your 9K for 15 sites.
But I still have no idea how to solve his problem, I'm still on XP.

If you are looking at the right ftppro.ini file and it is indeed 26K, you must have some profiles stored in there -- do you see anything in any of the profiles when using the SS publisher?

Not sure what you upgraded from, but with my Win7 RC, my ftppro.ini, brwslist.ini and urllist.htm reside in Users\me\AppData\Roaming\Virtual Mechanics\Bin, not under the Program Files\...\VM\bin directory. Did VM possibly change the way things are stored in Win7 vs. older OS's?
If it is not too late to reopen this subject for guiddance at least: I find now as Iexplore Win7 that the ftppro.ini resides BOTH in User/Robert/AppData/Roaming/VitualMechanics/Bin AND in Program Files/VirtualMechanics/SiteSpinnerPro/bin/ Now - I loaded by backup copy into the latter one - the Program file one - and I noticed it has not had any modifications since I upgraded to Win7. (Maybe there was never one there!)Because it did not work I started building a new list of FTP addresses and they are clearly in the AppData one. So I had a 26KB file in the Program file one that was stagnent and a building one in the AppData - a 12KB file. Now I copied the 26KB one to the AppData Bin and wonders - it works there now. While all the addresses etc. are there one must still remember to associate an address with a .ims file the first time you go to post it. So - summary. In Win7 Backup the ftppro.ini file in the User/Name/AppData/Roaming/Bin and replace it there after reinstalling or whatever. Whew!
Sorry I did not give you that information earlier.
The correct placement of all ini files associated with Virtual Mechanics (ftppro.ini, brwlist.ini and urllist.ini) is in the Documents and Settings location.
This is not unique to Windows 7, but all versions of Windows.
Roma had exactly the same problem a while back, and I pointed out to her then where the ini files belonged.
