Hello To Anyone Who Will Listen. I am truly a novice at this stuff. It took me days to figure out how to even publish to the internet. Now, I've managed to publish it, but none of the videos I've added will play. I've been reading and trying things all day. I even tried changing the file names to eliminate caps and spaces. Nothing seems to be working. I have no idea what you mean when you say "code". I got Site Spinner because it was supposed to be point and click. Why won't the embedded video's work. They work on the preview, but not on the internet. Please...I need help...and I need it in plain English.

Hi Ford,
Could you post a link to your site?

Bailey’s suggestion of posting a link to your site is valid. That gives us the choice to view your source code, and try to determine what is going wrong.

Also, a couple of questions. How are you inserting the videos into SS? You say the videos work in preview, so therefore you may have done it right.

What form of video file are we talking about?

Does the video require any external files to play?

And lastly, silly question, are the video files themselves uploaded to the correct location of your site?

my website is www.train4brain.org

I tried taking out spaces in the video file name and either way it's not working...if you look at the 2007 shortcut keys video files you'll see no spaces, and the 2003 shortcut keys videos have spaces.

I loaded them by using the SS embedded object. I clicked on "video" then clicked on file path and selected the "filename_controller.swf" Does that make sense? I tried looking up instruction on the SS tutorial, but there's nothing that I can find beyond click a file type and select a file name.

As far as the "video form" and "require extenal files to play"...I really have no idea. I'm a total novice at this, never touched the stuff before. I went with SS because it was supposed to be point and click/drag and drop kind of stuff. It's taken me two months just to get the 5 pages I've got done, please don't laugh too much when you see it.

As your video files are .swf, try setting a Format type of "Flash" instead of "Video".

PS. Getting rid of all spaces in page and file names is a good idea.

After you have followed Bruce's advice, be sure to upload the files that are supposed to be played with your flash players and make sure you upload them into the /media folder of your site.

Alternately, if you have used Camtasia to produce your videos as I suspect, you have the option to create the video as a single SWF file rather than a controller and .mp4 or .flv file.

Thanks! It was with Camtasia studio and I finally figured out how to produce it as a single SWF file. Once I uploaded the file, the problem was solved.
