I've noticed if I resize a .jpg in sitespinner
it makes a .png file which won't display on a mac using aol. On a pc it's fine or using any other browser it seems to be fine. Any advice?

Hi mdragon,

We have not heard about any problems with .png display on a mac using AOL.

However, if you want to change the output of your image files go to Options > Project Options and change the default vector format.

Thanks for the info. I will find out if this works later on today and post another reply.
I also have one more question. I noticed if an image is sized in sitespinner it renames the file with the object #, page #, etc. Is there a way to keep the original file name?

the images display fine on a mac using aol now that i've changed them to .jpg format. the other problem i'm having is that type is being shifted to the left. again only with aol on the mac. in sitepinner the text is centered within a text box. it seems that aol is not keeping it centered but shifting it left. any ideas?

When you say 'shifting it left' do you mean it is left aligned or the words are centered but moved to the left?

If it is left aligned it sounds like the Browser is not respecting the CSS styles. Do you know which Browser the AOL version you are using is based on? Is it very old?

I beleive one version of the AOL Browser for Mac was based a version of Internet Explorer 3. If that is what you have that may be a problem.

centered and moved left. I added text to my layout and centered it within the text box not on the actual page. when viewed with aol the type actually left justifies within the text box not left justified on the page. should i be locking the position of objects, text, etc before uploading my html file. would this cause it? *aol 8 i believe (it definitely a newer version.

That sounds like the what the browser would do if CSS was not working. Is there any way you can check with AOL to make sure the browser you have supports CSS?

According to this chart, some AOL versions use different underlying Browsers but for AOL 8 it doesn't mention one. It says AOL 8 supports CSS but it also supports PNG images (and is only for OSX). So if you don't see PNG files maybe you don't have 8.

AOL 5, 6, & 7 seem to use IE for the mac versions 4.0 to 5.5. So it sounds like these version can be upgraded to IE 5.5. Is that something you can do?
