Greetings ... on the last post thanks for the info
on the new post, previously when I published a website I got my index.html, then two directories geometry and images. For some reason or other I am not getting the geometry directory. Its probably just finger problems on my part but I've been at this for several hours ... any suggestions other then finding something new to do like collecting butterflies ? thanks in advance and take care ...vic |

Instead of collecting butterflies, have you selected “Gather (collect) all files”?
Next to that, there is a button titled “Sub Folders . . .” Click on that and check that the geometry folder is there. By default, there should be folders named image, geometry, css, code and media. If the geometry folder is not there, your required geometry files should be in the root directory. You can add the geometry folder and republish. You will then also need to delete the duplicated files from the root directory. On the other hand, if the geometry folder is there, that probably means that your project is a simple one, and no geometry is required. |

Hi Aussi ... thanks for the info but still no luck. I do have the "gather all files" checked and clicked on sub folders and "use sub folders" is checked but when I publish it, it creates the image folder with images but no geometry folder nor does it create a geometry file. When I clicked on "use sub folders" it shows both the image folder and the geometry folder but no code and media folders
The website is not too complicated as I have several pages linked. Now the real funny part is that once upon a time this did work. Should I just reinstall WD and hope for the best. Mind you I have two computers and they are both acting the same. My buddy wants me to switch over to front page but I don't relish the thought of learning yet another program 'specially when WD worked before ... collecting butterflies is starting to look good except they are on their way to Mexico to avoid the Canadian winters :-) Vic |

One thing we haven't established is what do you see when you view the page in your browser? As Postyr said, you don't absolutely need a geometry folder, so a missing folder by itself doesn't indicate a problem.
And just to be sure about this: You are using WebDwarf and publishing directly to your web site, not to disk first then uploading via a separate FTP process? If you can post a link to the problem page that would help too. |

Hi Brucee again thanks for the info ... when I preview HTML the web page is perfect. Also when I make changes to the web page I usually publish to a local directory then I FTP to my server collecting files from subfolders. Getting back to the image and geometry folders. I loaded one of the templates I think it was fun3, published locally and low and behold were the directories image and geometry. So then, with the same template I deleted all but one frame and started loading my pages over on top of what was left on the template. I then published to a local directory and again were the folders image and geometry.
Now after reading your post it appears that not having the geometry folder isn't a show stopper. Now I am starting to think my problems are not with WD but with my server as I have tried other FTP programs and also with WD FTP and it really takes a long time to make a server connection. As they say fix one problem at a time so I am going to make sure my server is not the crux of my problems then go from there. Again thanks very much to you and Postyr for all your help. later ...Vic |
