When I upload site files to iHostvm.com, everything displays fine. But when I try to upload to our Go Daddy hosted site, no images are visible. Can someone tell what I'm doing wrong, please?

Hello Aggie, and welcome to the forum.
It sounds to me that you have not uploaded the associated images. SS will sometimes create a folder called “image” and another called “geometry”. Both of these need to be uploaded in their entirety for the site to be displayed correctly. If you are absolutely sure that this has been done, and you are still having problems, can you post a link to your site for us to have a look at. |

Thanks. I tried again, but now files won't upload at all. I guess I'm just too much of a novice at this.

You may find it easier to use a stand alone FTP client. One that most forum members (including myself) use is a free one called Filezilla

I get a 403 "Forbidden" error when I click that link. This link: http://shortbrosconstruction.com/index.html gives a "page not found" error. So the implication that you don't even have an index.html page on the site.
The usual cause of the this problem is that you are not uploading to the correct part of your site, uploading to the wrong site, or "uploading" only to your local disk. Look for one file in particular -- say index.html -- where exactly are you sending that? If you are using SiteSpinner to do the upload, see also this thread. |

I am using 208.109.14.47 for host name and only a "/" for remote publish directory. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but I don't know what it is.

Your files are obviously being transferred, but the question is where to.
I’m not familiar with Go Daddy, but some other forum members maybe. They would have given you instructions as to where to upload your files. For instance, on my sever, I have to upload to “public_html”. Sometimes just using the “/” forward slash is not enough. You may need, for example, “/public_html”. Once you know what folder you are supposed to upload to, you could again try FileZilla. Using either SS or FileZilla, can you do a search of the folders on your host and detect exactly where the files were sent to? |

It's finally up and running, via FileZilla. It's not fancy, but it's a start. Many thanks for your help, and for your patience with this admitted novice (or worse) |
