I am trying to change text colors on my site and cant. Trying to go from red to black. Must be some thing I don't understand and I'll beat my head on the wall when I find out.

Possibly you need to select (highlight) the text you want to change by dragging the mouse over it. Double click the text object first to open it in the Text Editor. Then use the Font Color icon on the top toolbar to select black.

The color picker (eyedropper) should work too. With the text selected, drag the eyedropper over something black and release the mouse button.

In the work page, select the text object you wish to change.
Click on the 'Text' icon (left tool bar)
Click 'Yes to edit selected text object.
Click 'Edit' then 'Select all'
Click 'font color' icon on top tool bar ( 3 small interlinked coloured circles)
Choose your preferred colour and click ok
Then click on 'File' and select 'Save and close'

Wow, Ed! I really hope your family appreciates all the work you've put into that site! The typing on page Generation8 alone must've been a chore!
I guess there's a couple of points to work on from my perspective:

I think you should move your text boxes over to the right (or resize them) far enough so they don't overlap the pretty margin. It makes it difficult to read those important historic names.

If you want to drive people to your site, you should think about your page names and descriptions-they really help the search engines find your site (so I understand).

Genealogie de la famille PERREAUX is overlapping some links I think on your index page, so I'd watch that too.

Hat's off for the work you've put into your research and your site!
P.S. Please, please tell me how you get your pages to load from the side like that! Smile

Hi Amy,
Just butting in here, but you can get the page load effect, using 'Page Edit'/Special Effects.
There are several transition types and durations to choose from

Hmmm, does the transition usually show up in the preview? I just tested it and nothing appeared to happen...

Yes, it shows up in preview for me.
Did you set a duration time?
PS Try refreshing, or preview using the double arrows.
PPS If you apply it to say, your index page, it wont show in preview, until you click a 'home' or 'back' link from another page.
Hope this makes sense Smile
