Help - I am new to website development and have no expericence with HTML. I am using Excel to generate tabels - generate the spreadsheet then save as HTML and open this file in the Code window.
This works on IE but results are mixed on Mozilla Foxfire and does not show table lines on Safari. From what I've figured out so far in SiteSpinner to build tables seems clumbsy. Is there a better way that I'm missing? You can access the site I'm developing at http://www.clappandhaneybrazedtool.com. Separately - can you recommend a good book that would help in the genral learning process of website development? Best regards Lenskeeper |

Yes, using Excel is a valid approach. For simple tables, I would use SiteSpinner.
For anything complex I would use Excel. If you use code objects you need to take care with what you copy and paste -- for this reason, some users put the whole Excel page in an i-frame. Another approach is to take a screen shot of the Excel table and use the image file on your page. If you use .png8 image format and reduce the number of colors (in an image editor like IrfanView) you can make an economical image. |
