i have used other software to make websites but each time there is a learning curve and i find the forums give the best information. i tried a template and then changed it but i find when the website loads there is a black "shade" that loads. at first i thought it was just the first time it loaded but it does it all the time. when i looked in the graphics i see the old background is still there although i have mine loaded.
my site is www.ldmartisans.com i can just make a new site without the template but thought it would work. thanks |

Can you copy the page and paste it to another 1 page . if are using SS i think you may lose the shade. hope this works..

I'm not completely sure if this is what you are seeing but here goes anyway...
Internet Explorer displays a black box while png images are loading. Once loaded, IE then reloads from the browser cache, so they should then appear more quickly, resulting in the black box(es) being visible for less time. One easy fix is to use a different format for your images -- Geometry Editor > Options tab for individual images or Options > Project Options for all images. I suggest .jpg format for photos and .gif for anything else. You have a large image (bggeo6shd1pg1p19.png) -- over 600K in file size. I'm not sure why you need that when you also have a tiled background image set from the Page Editor. If you can remove it, that would also fix most of your problem, and allow the page to load faster too. |

wow your fast reply is great. actually I tried a few things and found out there was a shade from the template so i removed it. I took out the entire rectangle and then published it with just the background. Then I put the rectangle back up, centered it and then posted it again and it seems to have solved the problem. thanks so much for all the suggestions.
I hope as time goes on I can contribute also. |

I have been working with Site Spinner and learn so much from the forums. I cannot seem to create a new post so I am going to ask this question here. Perhaps if this is the wrong place someone can direct me. I see in an old post that there is another program that works with site spinner to create a shopping cart. I am about to start adding products to my site and in the interest of saving time I purchased the shopping cart from Go Daddy however I am not crazy about it. Has anyone used the shopping cart program IHostVM? I would like some opinions before I start to create my shopping cart. Thanks
