I have images laid out on my company's website, but I am wanting to utilize a standard gallery or slide show approach. How can I - or can I - do this in Site Spinner? I have been working with various programs that easily build slide shows, but I don't know how to import those. If anyone has had luck doing this, please let me know, but make sure to give it to me in layman's terms. Thanks!

Hi lschappell,

The easiest way to do this would be to simply create a Project, add as many pages to the project as you have picture, place a picture on each page, and then add a link underneath it to the 'previous - home - next' page.

Is this the effect you are trying to achieve?

Thank you Derry. I'm really wanting something that could be accomplished on a single page layout. Thumbnail images lined up on one side as a menu, with whatever the user chooses enlarged and centered. That is my goal, but would be happy with a slideshow too.

The way I outlined is probably the easiest. However, you can have the way you outlined.

Import all your images into SiteSpinner and scale them down (be sure to hold the shift key to keep them proportionate, and be sure that 're-render' in the Quick Editor is checked).

Now, you can create a mouse-over so that when the user puts their mouse over the thumbnail, the larger version shows on the right (the problem with this is that with a number of large images invisible your page would take quite a while to download).

Another option would be to create an iframe (do a search for iframe above). If this sounds like something you might want to try let me know and I will walk you through it.

Thanks Derry. The mouseover sounds like a good option, but I'll do some research on iframes as well. I looked at some of the posts on it, but didn't quite understand the mechanics behind it.

Derry - in reference to your suggestion of the mouse over to achieve the 'gallery' feel I was looking for - I've hit a brain block. I've never utilized the mouse over function before. Could you please walk me through or lead me in the direction of where I could find the steps for this. I see the function, hiding, etc., but I'm stumped as to how I link my pointer being placed on the thumbnail and having the enlarged image showing in the center.

Thanks for your help!

Hi lschappell,

A very simple mouse over would be as follows.

Put your 2 images on your page (scale one down to thumbnail size).
Go to the Special FX menu > Mouse effects.
Under Event, select Mouse pointer is over
Under Trigger Object, select the thumbnail image
Under Action, select 'then show'
Under Display Object, select the large image
Click OK

Now try Previewing!
