Can anyone help me to create a linear shade on my text box. I have tried Shade Editor but when I apply it does not change the effect?

You can apply only flat shadings directly to text boxes -- via the Quick or Shading Editors.

For a linear shade, apply the effect to a rectangle and place that rectangle behind the text object. Use the front/back buttons on the bottom toolbar to get the layering right.

For this to work, the text object must have a transparent background -- so leave it at the default [no shading].

Seeing Tonga's test page, I realize we need to define what you mean by "text box". Do you mean a text object (my assumption) or a form text box (Tonga's)?
