I had this happen long ago and now it is back. Any ideas on what would cause a video I have on my site to buffer and play (preferred) on one computer yet completly download before playing on another computer?

My first thoughts would be to check the file preferences (for that particular type of video) on each computer. See how they are being handled and if they're the set the same. Are you using the same media player on each computer to open that type of file?

I've found that if/when I download a media player it sometimes sets itself as the default player for a particular type of file or sometimes all of them. Then I have to go back and reset my preferences, sometimes from the player itself or if I right click on the file and use the "open with" option on the menu. Hope you find your answer.

Primal - I think you have it. One comp is defaulting to Nero all of a sudden. I have searched and searched and know it is right in front of my nose but where can you set file preferences - using IE

Did you mean Windows Explorer? It's named similar but that's where you access your computer operations from. If your using XP just open the "My Computer" icon. That's Windows Explorer.

One thing to try is: Open your "Control Panel" go to "Folder Options" then "File Types". That will list all your file association's and you can change things from there.

You can also right click on the media file itself, go to "Open With" and choose the program (Nero, Windows Media Player etc) you want to handle that particular file. Then it's the program itself as to how it handles the file.
