I am trying to append one site (11.9 mb) to another site (5.86 mb) with no success. (Total 17.8 mb)

Is there a limit on the size for one website?

Thanks, Doug

The limit to the size of your web site would depend on the Disk Space allocation of your web host, and would have nothing to do with Site Spinner. SS does have a limit on the number of pages and images per project, but the actual physical size is immaterial.

I use a basic plan with my host, and currently use 305mb of an allocated 10,000mb, so I can’t see 17.8mb being unrealistic.

How are you trying to append the second site (project)?

Thanks for your response.
I opened my main site (that I want to append), selected append and then opened my list of sites and selected the site that I wanted to add to the main site. After 1/2 hour waiting period it still had not appended clicked on the page and shows not responding, so I closed.

May be a computer glitch on my end??

Thanks, Doug

Are you using the main menu File > Append Project and then appending a .ims project file from there?

Assuming you are, next question: How big are your two projects?

SiteSpinner has a limit of 998 pages and 2500 images in any one project. If your append will take you over that limit in the combined project, I imagine it would fail. But I hope more gracefully than just sitting and doing nothing Smile

Brucee & Postyr,
Thanks for your input. I think where the problem lies is in something I may have done. I will try to explain and maybe someone will have a solution..? Combining two sites into one.

I originally appended the wrong way from site .ims"A" to site "B" and should have been the reverse. I then realized what I had done and opened the page order in "B" and deleted all of the pages from "A" leaving the original "A" site

Even though I had deleted the pages from "B" (Page Order Page) Site it still shows the appended size which is about twice what it should be. Confused? so am I?
Site "A" 310 pages 5.9 mb.
Site "B" 237 pages 11.9 mb.
I just can't imagine that "B" is the size it is, it looks to me like the memory of the two is saved in it (I had deleted "A" from it)

I am guessing if I had deleted each page seperately from the dropdown I wouldn't have created this problem???

I can send screen shots of page order on both sites,if that will help.

Thanks, Doug

Try Edit > Clean Components on your projects. If you accidentally append something then delete, all the deleted objects will remain hidden in your project.

Edit > Clean Components will remove them -- and a publish should too.

Brucee, Thanks, You Nailed it!.
I thought that was the problem but wasn't sure how to fix. That took care of it.

When the Clean Components window came up indicating remove certain copy it was scary but it did the job. I thought I was going to have to start all over. Very simple when you know how!

I found a description in the Help Option after your email response. I'll remember this in the future....

Thanks, Doug
