I'm trying out A4Desk Flash Photo Gallery Builder and wanted to find out how to embed a photo album into a web page. The instructions state that after publishing the album, I will get a code to cut and paste onto a web page. Do I draw a box, and then paste the code there? Here is the link to A4Desk Flash Photo Gallery if anyone is interested. http://gallery.a4desk.com/user...ry_on_a_web_page.htm

Thanks in advance

Use the Code button on the left and paste the code into the code window.

You will also need to identify all the files used by your gallery, and eventually upload those to your site.

To preview, copy those same files to your SiteSpinner Preview folder, keeping the same structure as you will have on your site. E.g., if the gallery files live in a folder named "a4gallery", copy that whole folder to your preview folder.

Thanks Bruceee. Where might I locate the preview folder on SS Pro? I can only locate the preview tab.

Thanks

Go to Options > Preview Options

The first box at top left will have your preview folder location in it. Click the “…” browse button to see exactly where it is.

It is normally under C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\SiteSpinner Pro V2\Preview

I have another question. I found a free flash slideshow online with instructions that were pretty much easy to follow, exept for the last part. First, I had to download a .zip file that contains sample images. Next, I had to extract the files and image folder into my SS website directory. Next, I had to copy my own images into the image folder and delete the sample ones. Next, I had to open the "code" folder using notepad and to change the image names.

Here is the tricky part. How do I upload these images? I did copy and paste the code into the code box. Am I missing something here? Here is the tutorial points to the link below:

Thanks much

First of all, you may note that the tutorial points to a folder named “images”

By default, SS will create a folder called “image” without the “s”, so that means that the above method may not work.

You will have to make sure that you either have a folder called “images” or create one, then place your images in there. The other choice is to create a folder of your own, then change the codes “images” to the new named folder.

To place your images into any of these folders, you again have other choices.

Firstly, you can use the SS embed file or media option (Publish File). I have never used this option myself, but according to Bruce and other distinguished members of this forum, it works fine.

The only thing I’m not quite sure about that option is to how to rename (or create) a new folder.

Another option is to publish your SS project to disc. You could then rename or add folders to your site via an independent program such as FTP Surfer or, as recommended by a lot of forum members, File Zilla

I finally made a decision and purchased Coffe Cup Flash Firestarter. I've been able to embed a "test" slide on to my site, but I need help with the slide. When creating the slide, I changed the background from white to black, but when I uploaded it, it went back to the default "white" as seen on my site www.emmakensington.com.

My next question is how I can match the text with the images. I want to loop the topics that match the images like here.

Thanks

I have come back to this topic late, but it looks to me that you have now fixed these problems. Correct?

Thanks Bruceee. I still would like to have both the news and the images relating to the news popping up at the same time. I downloaded the Coffecup RSS News Flash, but it doesn't have room for images. Please check my latest attempt here.

I think you are at the mercy of the Coffeecup RSS News Flash -- if it does not have support for images, you are out of luck.

But I am puzzled why the Flash on the right-hand side of your page is not suitable. There you have text changing that is synchronized to the image change. Is it just not a matter of adding more text?

Oh, and good luck at Wimby Wink

Thanks Bruceee. Regarding the text on the right, Flash Firestarter doesn't give you the option to add the body of text. You can only do a title (one line only), but you can't expand the box.

LOL... Yes, I'm bringing home the trophy Wink

Only one line of text would rule out FireStarter -- if that is really the case. But your example is just begging for more text. A one-line restriction seems very strange in view of the extra space available in that area.

As you have bought FireStarter, it would be a pity not to use it. I suggest you check the documentation carefully and CoffeeCup's forum if they have one. Maybe there is a way to do it -- here's hoping...
