I have added a page to my site using the copy page option, and then edited the parts that I wanted to change. I then saved and published as required.

The problem that I am having is that the new page when loaded is not loading in the same position as the rest. Now I do not mean that it is heaps off, I have it set to centre on the page, it is off by maybe 10-15 pixels which looks bad when that page is loaded.

I can not find anything different in the page properties or any of the positioning of items as I did use the copy page function.

The site can be found here and the page in question that moves is the web cam page.

Can any one pick out what is happening?
Thanks heaps.
Ken..

Hi Ken (please drop down to Hervey Bay and say hello to our daughter).

I have tried your link to the web cam page a dozen times, and cannot notice the effect you are speaking of.

OK, it seems that it is more a problem with Firefox as it does not happen in IE 8.

Will see what I can do for you Postyr :-)

It looks the same in IE8 and FF 3.5.2. here and just like Terry I can't notice the effect you describe.

OK, I think that I did not explain well enough.

Load the site and click on any of the different menu options on the left. Each page loads in the same position except for the web cams page, it moves slightly to the left of the screen. Well it does here on Firefox anyway, and I have tested on 4 different computers with the same result.

Thanks people.

You did explain correctly but I was expecting a 10-15px shift between the pages. There is a 2px shift on the webcam page both in IE and FF. Why this happened I don't know but the obj161 has a left position: 210px while on e.g. weather page corresponding obj557 has position 212. Select obj161 on the 'webcampage' open quick editor and change the x parameter from 210 to 212.

I agree with Roma and Terry, I've used both IE and FFx and come up with the same results.

OK, I have figured it out. Frown It has to do with a scroll bar appearing on the right hand side of the browser when everything does not fit on the page. I think that it makes it look un professional - is there any way to have a scroll bar there all the time?

Thanks to all those who helped. Smile

PS It is ok, I just moved my copywrite notice down a touch and it now adds a scroll bar and keeps the menu in the same place.

Since you can't control the size of a visitor's browser (and if you could, I'd bet they would get really PO'd), the only other option is to make your page fit the smallest possible screen size - 320x240.
