I know this has been covered before, and I couldn't come across what I'm looking for.

I want to have a drop down menu (if that's what it's called) that spreads from left to right when you point at the respective button.

Take a look at the one in the tutorials -- that will run either way just by repositioning the menu boxes. See Help > Load Tutorials > DropDown.
