With my first paying client in sight, I have been looking into CMS (Content management system) - a way for the client to update part of their site themselves. Most Blogging software seems incredibly complex (at least to this spoiled SiteSpinner user), but through my recent love affair with all things Mozilla (FireFox, Thunderbird) I think I stumbled on a nice and free solution: The Mozilla Suite, which is freeware, just as FireFox and Thunderbird, comes with a great WYSIWYG html editor. Primitive compared to SiteSpinner, but easy and good enough for upkeep of an information page by the client. It is called Composer.
If you make websites for other people you will get a request for CMS sooner or later and it is good to be prepared. |
