I just wanted to share with you all a tip (or not) that I do when I create sites.
I do a "save as" (fairly regular)and keep the file on a removeable disk, also known as a computer key. Here is the tip: When saving my files, I use the site name (or portion of it) with the date it was saved in numeric form; ie: 071306 which is July 13, 2006. This procedure lets me know the most recent file for that site. Hope this helps. If someone already suggested this, please excuse me. Nancy F keystonejewelry.com |

No answer ?
Well I think there is no silly idea and I think you're right to give this tip. Might be obvious for certain people but not for everybody, especially I'm sure that quite a few guys don't even backup projects and then if something happens, they might just beg for miracles and/or insult the soft or their computers. I said it several times here, I usually save my projects twice like 'jewelry.ims' and 'save_jewelry.ims'. I never work on a 'save_xxx' and always open the original. But regularly and especially before I do important modifications, I first save a 'save_xxx' project (copy of the original) Believe me, this has only helped me once but if I didn't have this backup...%^$#":@ Maybe Guys you have other ways to save your (precious) pages and I will always be happy to read it here. Anyway thank you Nancy ! |
