Thanks Roma,
I got frustrated and "tried" to start completely over, I deleted everything from the MySite folder (where I was going to publish locally to disk) and everything from the SS Preview Folder. Then I: 1. used your code (changed the .swf name to the new slideshow) on the page for the slideshow; 2. Published to MySite 3. Copied all the files from FSM output (before I finalized the FSM project, I changed the name of the xml slide name to SlidesBaja.xml (per Larry's suggestion to change, if 2 slideshows are on project..maybe I shouldn't have done this to the first slideshow?); 4. Copied the FSM files to MySite 5. Copied the FSM to preview folder On the SS preview page, the slideshow music came on, but I got a Load Fail error message. Thanks again, Louise |

I understand your frustration Louise but hang on there. The problem as I see it is to get all folders and files in the correct location and adjust the paths in the code accordingly. In order to avoid more confusion I'll call the slideshows and corresponding folders/files Slideshow1 and Slideshow2.
Let's start with Slideshow1. 1.Create a slideshow in FSM. When you go to the Publish tab in Output Settings you can see three file names: Slideshow1.swf, Slideshow1.html and slides.xml. You can already here change the name of the slides.xml to something else. In our case I changed it to Slideshow1.xml. Click Publish Now and FSM will create all necessary folders/files and place it in the output folder called Slideshow1. 2. Using the same procedure, create Slideshow2 in FSM but wherever you used the name Slideshow1, this time use the name Slideshow2. 3. Go to the output - Slideshow1 folder and open the Slideshow1.html file with html editor. You'll find there the same code that I posted before but with already correct paths. Copy this part of the code <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0" width="480" height="400" id="tech" align="middle"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="movie" value="Slideshow1.swf?xml_path=Slideshow1.xml" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <embed src="Slideshow1.swf?xml_path=Slideshow1.xml" quality="high" width="480" height="400" name="tech" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /> </object> and place it as a code object on your SS page where you want the slideshow to appear. 4. Do the same with the code from Slideshow2.html 5. Now you'll need to create two separate folder called thumbs and slides in your SS Preview folder. I assume that the images you used when creating the slideshows ALL have different names, otherwise it won't work. Now you'll need to copy the content from Slideshow1 thumbs folder and the content from Slideshow2 thumbs folder to your newly created thumbs folder in SS Preview. Then you have to do the same with the contents in respective slides folders, placing them in the newly created slides folder. 6. If you haven't used any additional features when creating the slideshows you won't need the res folder. I just hope I didn't add to the confusion. |

Roma,
Before I go further, when I recreated the first slideshow, it only gave me two files, and .html and a .swf, but no .xml. Will wait to hear before I travel farther on this road. Thanks, Louise |

Sorry, another question. On your item 3 "....open the Slideshow1.html file with html editor." Is the html editor in SS? or?
Thanks, Louise |

Hi Louise,
Regarding your first question; if creating the first slideshow you get only two files that means, that the slideshow you created in FSM was a Basic Theme slideshow. In that case you don't need anything else except the swf file and add it in SS as an Foreign Object, Flash file format. regarding question 2; it depends what program you have asigned as your html editor. It has nothing to do with SS. You can edit html files using e.g. notepad. If you rightclick the html file and in the menu select Edit. |

I was surprised that there was no .xml, who knows what I did. Do I understand your last post, that I don't need to add the code you gave me? just add the swf file to SS as a Foreign Object? Sorry for being dense.

You are absolutely not dense Louise, it's just that with so many options to choose from it can be confusing. Been there, done that

Oh, happy day. It worked. I just have a little problem with the music (someway 2 songs trying to play together on one slideshow) but I think I can redo fairly easy.
You, and all the wonderful helpers with the SS program are magnifico! Louise |
