We are creating a paintball portal in which there will be many pictures that required and the ability to sort them by date and/or event. We also needed a way that players could easily identify the picture by a file name for future reference. We first attempted this via 'tables" with in IMS Web Engine and although we were able to accomplish our goals it was very time consuming (we have approx 250 pics a day) and not that profesional looking. Working with Bruceee and Extreme Thumbnail Generation we were able to process a days worth of photo's and have them posted on the web in less then 30 minutes in a very professional format. The key issue that needed to be resolved is that all thumbnail tools we found create an "index.html" file along with several folders. This created a real problem as we needed many different albums on the same site. The solution ended up to be fairly simple. After creating the thumbnails which again created an "index/html" file and three folders, we created another folder that was named for a date or event. The index.html and three folders were moved into this master folder. This allows us to have as many master folders (photo albums) on the same site. In IMS or SS you simply link to the folder by using http//: "website name.com"/"folder name"/index.html. Our site is basically in beta mode and being completely redesigned now that we have at least a small hint at what we are doing. The original testing site is http://www.azballbusters.com.

I will send you an email on the steps it takes to get thumbnial galleries posted. It may seem complicated by I can get 100's of pics in less then 30 minutes.
I will email you at your posted email address - if that is not correct let me know. mark |
