Hello all,
After searching the forum i find only 2 or 3 guys asking for a linux version, so i am asking too: is it possible to release a linux version sometime in the future (hopefully the near future)? Because they are amazing, Web Engine and Site Spinner are amongst the very few things that stops me from migrating to Linux I am sure that a Linux version will see the daylight, so if there are any Linux lovers around here, please submit to my post and maybe we'll speed things up a little. Regards, misumisu A Linux lover |

Hi misumisu,
I seem to recall that some users were running our products under Linux - more on this here. - Derry |

Thank you, Derry
I know i can use an emulator and other things like that to run a win-based program in a Linux environement, just wondering tough... I am pretty sure that somewere in the future you will release such a version; like someone in the topic you pointed wrote - it is a growing market wich will eventualy become hard to ignore, a perfect way to increase revenue Oh, btw, if you need a marketing director just let me know Thanks again, misumisu |

I am sure we will offer a Linux version at some point. It would just help speed things up if someone where to come up with the Billions as requested by Harpo

Hi All and Greetings from Germany
I searched the forum and found (can it be true?) no newer linux comments than this thread. I'm more and more convinced I will be migrating to linux (at the moment Linspire is my favourite), and was wondering.... still no news on a linux version? I'm so happy with the WebEngine and want to keep using it. I admit I am no wizz when it comes to IT, and I probably wouldn't know how to use any work-around ... :-( But if it's money you guys need to develop a linux version, hey... I'll donate! Haven't got a billion just now, but a quid or two might be a start? Babs |

Until a Linux version is developed, both SiteSpinner and WebEngine have been reported to run under the wine Window's emulator.

Erm...the ./wine execution doesn't work in default build of debian etch. I'm working on it and will post results and proper step in a week or two.

OK, I've tried in Ubuntu (yes, I know, Ubuntu is built on Debian) but the installation stops when actually trying to 'get' the msi after launching the SetupSiteSpinnerV270f.exe
What I need is the actual msi instead of the exe to test further... Any ideas as to where to download it? I tried using anonymouns FTP but authenticaition failed. Thanks! -Scott ____________________________ You should never hesitate to trade your cow for a handful of magic beans. -- Tom Robbins |

Maybe you have an old version. Open SiteSpinner > and use Help > "Check for Updates". The SS 2.7f release is now a .msi file.
