It would be useful to be able to close one site project and open another withou having to close the entire program and the reopen and then select the next site to be worked on.

You don't have to close the program down to open a new project. Simply click on the File Open icon and open the file you want. Does this not work for you?

Yes, this works.

It is just that I would like to "close" a project so resources could be freed for use by another project.

When you say "Freed for use by another project" do you mean clearing out the memory and file space or allowing copy/paste objects to be used with another project?

There is an automatic closing so memory from one project is always released when you open another but the objects in the clipboard are also erased.

One way to share objects between projects is to use the 'File'->'Append...' menu item to append a second project to a first. Then you can copy and paste pages or objects from one project to the other.
