There are other programs out there (out of courtesy to this forum, I won’t name them) that can do this, but they, and I, have a few problems with it.
One of my problems is that, unless it is a web page that you have previously developed yourself, importing somebody else’s page is akin to plagiarism. Trying out some of the programs, I imported a few pages that I had hard coded with HTML quite a few years ago. Although the new programs imported all of the text correctly, some text in tables was misplaced. Some HTML code showed as text on the page (this mainly referred to menus and alike). And, of course, any image or object could not be found, but in general, the place holders were correctly placed. Basically, you need to edit every object on the page. May as well start from scratch. All in all, I think it is quicker and easier to drag and drop from one web page to your own project. Especially if it is just the text and/or image you are after. This is because most sites these days are program generated (not hard coded). So therefore, each program, such as Site Spinner, will read it a different way and generate it’s own code, resulting in mostly undesired effects. Of course, if you are trying to import a page of your own, it is quite likely it was developed with SS, so then, you can append the page. But even then, any image (including titles) may not be found if you have changed your file structure. My thoughts only. Please feel free to disagree. Terry |
