I think it would be a good idea for a general chat forum, people to talk about things unrealted to webdesign and for people to get to know each other, so it becomes a real community.

Hi Podge,
I don't think it is really in our realm for the type of open discussion you suggest, that might better be served by a forum geared towards that, such as one of the Yahoo forums. We do always appreciate the feedback though - Derry |

I am a member of a piano group, and that had, note the past tense
That became very popular, so much so that the coffee room got more hits than the rest of the forums. However the topics tended to drift into religion/politics, and things got very nasty -- all this in a nice friendly piano group. The site owner appointed moderators, to no avail. So now the coffee room is no more -- but it was fun while it lasted. Wise decision, Derry. I'm sure we're all a much nicer group of people here -- but even so, let's "stick to the knitting". |

i see where uour coming from, and i have seen them get nasty over politics (i've even seen a forum turn anti-white) which can be bad. And all religious forums tend to get abused by people of a different religion. I see where your coming from, just thought it would be nice as people here seem adamant on helping each other (unlike programming talk where they just take the crumpet out of so called "n00bs") that i thought it would be nicer if people got to know each other a little better.
I already have two people off this forum on my msn list and we don't talk about much else other than web related stuff, and software. Just thought withe everyone being so nice on this forum that they would most probably stick to the forum policy (e.g only certain things allowed in the forum).
