Due to my growing interest and fascination/obsession with css. I am now wondering is/will it be poosible to create a css style sheet within webengine on a page. With just the css.
I don't think it is possible at the moment but will it ever be? So you can strip a page of all its tags and just write a pure code page. No automatic rendering nothing. It saves the file as you write it and doesn't alter it? Will this be a possibility. It is un-neat and not very good to include the entire stylesheet at the beginning of each page. For the time being i will crete the style sheet in wordpad (i have yet to find a css software i like). And upload them and just add the header within the webengine header. But will this ever be available? A part of JD&Co web design ------------------------------------------------- "It's not where you take things from - It's where you take them to" -Jean-Luc Godard |

I don't know if anything like that is planned but keep in mind that the css used in SiteSpinner/WebEngine is almost all object specific (e.g. visibity, z-order, position) therefore it is appropriate to keep it together with the objects rather that have a global css file for all pages.

yeh, i understand that. Myabe what i'm asking for is more of a notepad style feature where you can create you own page of code. No wysiwyg and then webengine just saves the file and publishes the file. But doesnt generate anything for the file.
So if the user writes the code wrong then the page is wrong. It will benefit css and php codes, not sure about any other languages as i use very few other labguages. I am thinking along the lines of for css, just a stylesheet or for php a global variables page that is user written Don't know if you understand what i am getting at. It isn't the most important thing either as most users probably won't use the feature. This message has been edited. I am not sure exactly what you mean.
You can turn off all css for objects with the 'No CSS' project option and you could have a separate css file uploaded with the 'Publish File' Foreign object format. Do either of those help with what you are trying do? |

yeh, kinda... but the foreign object.. it would be nice to be able to create that as a text file with in webengine and save it. and then webengin automatically uploads it.
(obviously ability to save it with the .css extension) I didn't think of using the "Foreign object" feature so thanks. that is a good work around A part of JD&Co web design ------------------------------------------------- "It's not where you take things from - It's where you take them to" -Jean-Luc Godard |
