Have you considered adding a plugins option to Web Engine??

In the audio market, Winamp 2.80 is still going strong in spite of Times Warner's attempt to trample it with version 3.0 precisely because 2.80 comes with a plethora of sophisticated plugins and 3.0 doesn't.

HTML Kit build 292 has survived a long time because of its large plugin library including two SVG plugins.

It could be the answer to what you want and have time to develop and certain users want to see developed. Yes the developers have to know what they are doing; but others have surmounted this problem and there is obviously much talent wandering around this forum.

I could easily list 45 features I would like to see developed, but then you run into the problem of resources. Plugins, whatever problems they present, leave the de-bugging problem with the developer. You set the guidlelines and standards and he/she has to meet them.

Skins are no big deal with me, but they sure are popular with a whole pile of other people as one minor example.

You have to build an interface; but then....?

I'll bet a pile of programmer's currently working on open source would love to do something like this. I don't think that you would suffer, in the long run, from lack of quality input.

Hoping this gets serious consideration,

RC

Hi Muzzy,

Absolutely. It is great idea, and one we have thought seriously about. Again, though, it is not a simple feature to build into the product, but rather an undertaking that would require considerable resources to implement.

Having said that, it is on the 'wishlist'.
