Hi Derry,
a) Unless it is peculiar to the other parameters I am using, it appears that the minimum column height for a cell is 20 pixels. When you are using a table for financial data, and blending the boarders with the background to make them invisible, it is VERY useful to use blank rows to space your data vertically between major data groupings. A minimum height restriction of 20 pixels reduces this flexibility. Can it be made smaller or arbitrary? b) This is going ultra classy, but the table editor sure takes up a chunk of your page, and if the top half (above the cell workings) could be made to "slide in and out" as you needed it, what a great feature that would be. c) At present you can centre, & left or right justify in a cell. Internal padding in the cell which would allow you to fine tune this would be useful. It is the CELLPADDING feature in standard HTML code. Cheers, Muzz |

Hi
Forget one thing. d) I would dearly love to see a table with a transparency feature for the background. It seems contra-indicated in a table, but it is not -- it would make tables far more useful than they already are. The present table is a major improvement on the old one. Good work. Cheers, Muzz |

a) The minimum size for a table cell is 5x20 pixels. That is an html limitation. Although we could in theory allow smaller sizes, the output would never be rendered correctly in html. We may consider smaller sizes in future but we have left it out for now because there are many UI considerations to deal with when the output may or may not match the input.
b) We will add that to the list of suggestions. c) The 'Padding' option in the table editor sets the table's 'cellpadding'. Is that not working for you? d) That could be useful too. The same considerations for a) apply here. If you are working in svg you might find it more flexible to use lines and rectangles to simulate a table. Cheers, Harpo |

Hi Harpo,
Sorry for the slow reply. The lines and rectangles is a great idea, especially when combined with the snap grid. Thanks. As regards d), I guess what I have in mind is "invisible padding" -- separating the lettering from the border. I'll check that out again. Cheers, Muzz |
