I purchased SS to create html for a published newsletter. A couple of issues that I'd greatly appreciate some help with:
1. Even when I specify absolute addressing in Publish, I am getting relative addressing in the HTML code. Is this a known bug? To fix this, I have to publish out to my FTP site and do a replace on the source code to substitute "./ with the absolute address "http://pubs.itsmfusa-gla.org/Newsletter%2001%202009/. 2. While the html looks fine if opening it in MS Explorer, when I publish using my publish utility, the image and text positions are jumbled. You can see the HTML at http://pubs.itsmfusa-gla.org/Newsletter%2001%202009/NL0109.html. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The position of images and text needs to be hard-coded and doesn't seem to be. Thanks ... Adam |

I'm in doubt as to how absolute addressing is supposed to work. How does SS know what absolute address to use?
After some testing, it seems to me that you should fill out the "Add Base" field with your URL -- in your case http://pubs.itsmfusa-gla.org/Newsletter%2001%202009/ . This tells the browser to add add that base URL to any image and page links. With that in place, there may be no need to specify absolute addresses at all -- the usual "Gather" option should do it. Hope that helps.... |
