Not being able to anchor is a problem for me in that many of the sites I work on have long pages and utilize a list at the top that clicks down to the information below. Not having an anchor in these cases either makes for too much reading by the viewer or causes me to create a new page for each topic.

An example might be a FAQ page with topics at the top that link to the corresponding anchored information below.

The lack of a site map has caused me to not use Spinner for larger sites. If it had one I could rebuild my main site that currently has nearly two hundred pages in it on Spinner but without it the page list would be entirely too long to navigate through to jump to them in the design stage. I like the ones that give you an actual page of little squares that you can group for a visual look and as an option a folder type index similar to a windows navigation look.

With a site map I could build a site of any size. One idea I have is to try making my own site map on a hidden page for personal navigation but then that requires extra steps that need to be done with the creation of every new page. Still, its a possibility - but there are no options for the need of anchors. Or are there?

What you describe for anchors is already possible -- SiteSpinner calls them "bookmarks". There is a tutorial available under Help > Tutorials.

Is the site map you are thinking of one for you during the site-building stage and not for your visitors? If so, I agree that a Windows Explorer tree structure style would be helpful compared to a long drop-down page list.

Some things that might help that you may not be doing already:
1. Choose page names that indicate the place of each page in your hierarchy. Something that only you need to understand!
2. Re-order your pages in the drop-down page list via the Page Editor > Page Select > Arrange button.
3. Split your big project into smaller sub-projects. The Arrange button can be useful here too as it allows you to delete multiple pages at once.

For your anchors, check Bruce's web site here. Everything you need to know. He also some provides some instructions on making a site map.

Also, I don't know if it is mentioned on Bruceee's site but you can link to any object on a page using the object's ID.

Object ID's in SiteSpinner are the object's name prefixed with a capital 'O' e.g. 'obj1' has the ID 'Oobj1'.

So to link to a title object called chapter2 just put #Ochapter2 in the link.

It is on my site here, but I'd recommend caution with it. I tested mainly with IE6, but found reliability issues with it -- documented on the page.

If anyone wants to try that method, I'd be interested to hear how it turns out -- IE7 may be better.
