Hi
At present if you drag a text box it snaps to the grid using the *top* of the text box. I find that quite disorienting and would prefer it snapped along the bottom, so it can be placed on a line. Anyone else find this difficult? It is so rare to align text along the top of the letters. I think this might be the reason some people have reported that the grid snapping is out by a few pixels. I thought that at first - I thought the snapping was wrong, but then realised that at least in the case of text boxes an apparent misalignment appears because the box can't be placed to snap along the bottom. Thanks. |

Most of my programs snap to the upper-right corner as does SiteSpinner, so this seems normal to me.

Hi Larry
I was thinking about this today. I think you are right that many programs align even text to the top. It is by far the most logical way for most rectangles to be aligned - it just seems funny for title text to be aligned by its ascenders. I think I find this weird because my previous web page generator aligned title text to the bottom. It isn't a big deal and I will get used to it. It just means that for title text you always have to manually edge the graphic up a bit. It isn't an issue with blocks of text where you want top alignment anyway. Forgive my rambling. It's Thursday, it's hot, I've been copywriting all day, and who knows what aligns where at the moment. Ali |
