Here are some things that I have found that I would like to see chanaged or added for the next version. Some may have already been mentioned previously, I know of at least 1 that has, but I will include it here anyways. 1. Have the default outline color to be black or white (one end of the rgb scale or the other) and not the skin tone color. 2. When you go into the link editor and check the box for Assign Unique Color, I would like for it to remember the last color used (at least as long as the current project is open). What I find happening is that if you click the "color" button next to "Assign Unique Color" it will show you the last color you selected and if you hit okay it will stick. But, if you don't click the "Color" button next to "Assign Unique Color" it will default to blue. I feel that I waste a click everytime I click "Color" as it shows the last color I picked, but if I don't click "Color" it will default to blue. I would like for this to change in the future versions. 3. When you click a text item (or any object that is on top of another) and then click to another (example: text on top of a graphic as in a menu bar), the item underneath is always selected unless you first deselect everything and then click the item you want. 4. I would like for when you CTRL+Click items the "grouping" box would not expand to include both but the boxes around each individual item would be highlighted (so that way if things are underneath you can highlight them as well and see what items belong to the group). 5. I would like to have the option of seeing what colors codes are being used in both CMYK and RGB by simply going to properties or by sampling with the color probe. Currently I have to utilize a seperate program to get my colors to match up on graphics, etc. and it would be nice to be able to just type in the color code. 6. Get rid of the duplicate means for doing the same thing, such as links or text editing. Instead of having duplicates, combine them into one interface. Currently you can make links in at least two places and both of them don't play well together. 7. Add "Move up"/"Move down", "Move to bottom"/"Move to top" under the "right click" menu. 8. Layers would be nice- especially to where you can hide and lock items. 9. Be able to do a 3 part mouseover. Ex. When mouse is over X, hide Y and show Z. 10. The automation of keeping the last two project files on the upload server. (Basically for safety as sometimes you upload and lose your last file unless you rename it server-side, but then you have to remember to save over it). What I am proposing is that if you have the ims file named xyz as long as it is named xyz before it is uploaded it will be changed to xyz1 so as to allow you to keep xyz. The next time you upload it will call it xyz and the next time it will be called xyz1. This way, you always have the two lates copies and this will save a lot of people a lot of grief. These are the suggestions I can think of at this time. If anybody else has any that I did not think of, feel freed to add. VM Staff, thanks for listening and being active on this forum. I would also like to add to this list the ability to undo a cut as well as the ability to copy and paste to the same position. An example would be if I copied image x, I want the paste of the copy to remain in the same place that image x is. Why? A lot of times I copy and paste text and then just change the text content such as for menu items. Whenever I do this, it always pastes off to the right and either above or below the item I copied from. This is good for knowing that the item copied and pasted, but bad for trying to realign them. This would be so much easier if it didn't move the pasted item from its original's location. I know I can match up the coordinates, but it would be a lot quicker if it just stayed where the original is.

Another request:
Instead of renaming each item that makes up the webpage such as objxxx, why can't we just leave it named what we originally named it? j razz www.jrazzcreations.com |

SS or WE (or WD!) rename only if they change the image in some way, and so create a new image file. No change means they use the original image name.
So if there is a change, a new name is necessary. Objxxx is useful in that you automatically know that SS has created it. Maybe some name like objMyImage1.jpg, objMyImage2.jpg etc would be the answer? -- assuming the original image is MyImage.jpg. |
