Guys, I have to commend you SS. With it I was able to design some pretty terrific web pages and we're the tops in ranking in nearly all of our keywords.. It's great in bringin a site up quickly and somewhat expensively looking.

Now for the hate part. You need some major infusion into making maintenance of web pages easier. In my ongoing web development, I noticed that I need to unify some of my design components and this means being able to copy and past clipped items between pages. The inability to copy things from one page to another is horrible. It makes changing the look of a web site nearly impossible when you want some unified components. The append feature does nothing when you want to copy items from page 1 to 3,4,5,6, etc.

When is your next update? When will you add this feature? I'm avoiding the upgrades I need to make to my site until you add the copy and paste feature between pages of a site.

Mircosoft Publisher (the guys you beat out in my opinion) has a wonderful feature you should learn from. I can open two instances of Pub, then I can copy entire sections with cut and paste between the two publications. This lets me rebuild a site by simply copying and pasting the wanted components from an older version of a website to the new and unified looking new pages.

I have a catalog of items I sell. There are maybe 40 pages in all. I've just taken the first page, put a new and updated design there, and now I want to copy the visual components from this first and reference page to the remaining 39 pages. You don't allow this even 1 page at a time. You force a conversion to a graphic file which is maybe better than nothing but it still is a major shortcomming to SS.

Come on guys, fix it.

A loyal user,

Bill

You are asking for a copy/paste option that works across projects. So you'd have your old and new projects side-by-side on your desktop and copy from one to the other. That would be useful.

I do similar things to what you are doing and haven't had the same problems. Do you know about these features which are already present in SS? :--
  • shortcut key to move quickly from one page to the next (or back)
  • copy and paste (or drag-and-drop) from a web page (html) into a project
  • clone or include an object so that if you change it on one page it automatically changes on the others
  • copy and paste multiple selections from one page to another
  • page templates

Copying between two running copies of SiteSpinner would be nice but as Bruceee mentioned you can copy from one page to another inside SiteSpinner.

    To do that just:
Select the objects you want, with the mouse.
    Click menu: 'Edit' > 'Copy'.
    Go to the new page.
Click menu: 'Edit' > 'Paste Copy'.

Let us know if that is not working for you.

Also, look into the 'include' and 'clone' features as a way to elimate having to copy changes to other page.
