Hi Derry,
The Bold, Italics, Underline, and Colour attributes in the Title Editor are global. Is it possible without unduly increasing code complexity or file size to allow for these features to be applied to individual words or characters as highlights: HTML and SVG? Cheers, Muzz |

Hi Muzz,
That is a big one, though definitely a worthwhile request. Keep in mind however that in SVG you can simply use the Text Editor as the output is the same as the Title Editor. - Derry |

Hi Derry,
How do I say it gently Derry....it is a feature I wanted to use with imaged fonts. I simply cannot create the product I want using only two fonts in SVG. I have used the HTML title editor as a text editor to create entire pages simply to access the font I wanted sacrificing the power of SVG in the process. I am now using Web Engine as often or not simply as a site manager. I know your problem and I know your answer and you have my full support in doing what you have to do with SiteSpinner. The stakes must be heavy. But I am not going to play coy: without pixel precison positioning in the Shading Editor and Imaged fonts, Web Engine is a dead duck as a serious SVG editor. I saw a painting yesterday which made the most incredible use of depth perception I have every seen. I stared at it for half an hour determining how it was accomplished. Then I said, "I'll bet I could do that with Web Engine if..." Hi Derry, Let's just leave this one alone. It is an old subject about which I have nothing to add. Thanks, Muzz |

Hi Derry,
Sorry for the "hard ride." But I have a question. When you import a .png file as, say, a textured image with the Shading Editor, what prevents that .png file from being incorporated within the .svg package when you upload in the same manner as if you just generated a radial image with Web Engine? I can create imaged font .png files elsewhere, but they they remain external to the .svg file, and one of the great things about .svg is very fast downloads. So the next question is, if you do create imaged .svg fonts with the title editor in the future, will they remain external to the .svg file as "title" files, or will they be incorporated within the .svg package? I had a go at Batik-Coomb, but it is not easy sledding. Their instructions on how to use Tomcat are obscure as can be. I am going after the main Knox United Church site and I am up against Telus. Thus I want the best SVG editor possible and I would rather it be VM's Web Engine and not EvolGrafix. Time is of the essence in this matter with the current KF board's term ending in the fall. It is hard making plans not knowing when WE is going to ripen. You're at a pivotal point, and so am I. May it all work out. Cheers, Muzz |
