Hi Derry,

Just some food for thought. There are about as many ways to "shade" a page as you can shake a mathematical stick at. But one intriguing function I have never seen used -- and in practice it would represent an extension of the cylindrical taper -- is the Cardinal Sine function (it has many names), [sin(x)]/x.

The major issue is whether or not you would want to leave the number of zero crossings as an option (with a maximum), or simply set it at a pre-determined number.

It could certainly lead to some interesting results.

Cheers,

Muzz
